The are numerous building dating as far back as 1899. These include the Dutch Reform Church (1899), the Parys Museum (built in 1904 - now a provincial heritage site) which is housed in the old Magistrate Court. There is also the Anglican Church, made of blue granite blocks dating back to 1915.
